What the collaboration involves
As a freelance Housing Advisor, you support international clients in finding and securing a suitable rental home. Depending on your experience and availability, you may be involved in the full rental search process and, if relevant, also support clients with settling-in services.
Your work may include:
⮕ conducting a personal intake and reviewing the client’s preferences, budget, timeline and search strategy;
⮕ checking whether the client’s documents and application profile are ready;
⮕ actively searching for suitable rental properties based on the client’s criteria;
⮕ sharing suitable housing proposals, market insights and relevant network-based opportunities where available;
⮕ advising clients on which properties are realistic and worth pursuing;
⮕ booking, preparing and attending viewings, either together with the client or on the client’s behalf;
⮕ preparing and submitting rental applications in the way that is most effective for the relevant landlord, agent or platform;
⮕ following up with landlords or rental agents where useful;
⮕ supporting with rental conditions, lease-related questions and practical steps before signing;
⮕ assisting with the beginning inspection and key handover where agreed;
Experience with settling-in or relocation services is a strong plus, but not required.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for freelance professionals who:
⮕ have strong local knowledge of the Groningen or Northern Netherlands rental market;
⮕ have experience in rental housing, relocation, property search or tenant representation;
⮕ communicate clearly and professionally in English;
⮕ preferably also speak Dutch, especially for contact with rental agents and landlords;
⮕ are reliable, proactive and service-minded;
⮕ understand the urgency and emotion involved in finding a home;
⮕ can guide international clients in a clear, realistic and reassuring way;
⮕ are comfortable working independently while staying aligned with the Xpat Housing Solutions team;
⮕ have a professional network or practical experience in the local housing market.
You may already work as an independent rental agent, relocation consultant, property finder, housing advisor or local real estate professional.
